03/05/09: NYT AT O & J CONCERT
New York Times came to our show at Death by Audio in Brooklyn on March 3rd and said this: "The band that came across best was Opsvik & Jennings, an electro-acoustic chamber-pop quartet. Led by the bassist Eivind Opsvik and the guitarist Aaron Jennings, with Brian Drye on Farfisa organ and Dave Christian on drums, this group advanced a series of tuneful provocations, self-contained and pregnant with detail. And appropriately, as a counterpoint to the evening’s headliner, it balanced precision against a spirit of wonder." Nate Chinen, NYT >>

03/05/06: FF IN JAZZTIMES ARTICLE>>
"It's difficult to parse the various sounds on the recording or even
to distinguish between digital and acoustic components. And that seems
to be the point. Like the best electronic music - or at least, the stuff
that tends to draw me in- Fløyel Files places emphasis not on algorithms
but rather lyricism, texture and mood. It's an intimate and introspective
album, imbued with a stripped-down pop mystique." Nate Chinen for
JazzTimes
